CICCC Update—18 July 2013 Meeting
Incidents on site
There were four Severity 2 incidents in the previous 3 month reporting period. Two of these involved manual handling incidents (back and leg strains), one was a leaking fitting on a truck, and the last involved a 600 litre spill from a Lube Oil tank. Excessive vibration caused the pressure gauge to screw off. An investigation of the piping configuration on the pump to stop cavitation is underway.
Terminals’ Environmental Policy
The Committee has written to Terminals Managing Director suggesting that Terminals broadens the list of principles on which its Environmental Policy is founded.
Additional points suggested for inclusion are:
- Being a good neighbour to its surrounding industries and wider community, by being open with information (consistent with privacy requirements of clients), and supportive of community development.
- Behaving ethically in its dealings with clients, suppliers, regulators and the wider community.
- Recognising the importance of sustainable development, and incorporating this goal into its decision making.
Next meeting of the CICCC
