CICCC Update-11 November 2014 Meeting

Changes in top people at Terminals Pty Ltd

At its meeting on 11 November 2014, Carlo advised that after 12 years as State Manager, he is taking the opportunity to take up another position at Terminals’ head office. Don McKenzie will take over as the Victorian State Manager. Don has extensive experience in the oil industry in New Zealand and Australia, and joined Terminals 18 months ago as the Operations Manager at Geelong.

Carlo advised that George Horman, Terminals General Manager, would also leave Terminals when the new Chief Operating Officer, Doug Eng, has settled in. Doug has moved from managing BST (Terminals sister company) in New Zealand to take up this position.

Adoption of Guidelines for Agency Representatives presenting at CICCC meetings

The Committee decided to draft guidelines setting out its expectations of agency representatives presenting at the CICCC. The draft Guidelines covered matters such as the availability of material presented to be reported by the CICCC Where material is declared by the presenter to be confidential, the Committee will determine whether it can be presented with that constraint, or whether it should be withheld. The guidelines also advise of the practice of the Committee to allow the minutes to remain in draft form until the next meeting, allowing any party present (including presenters) to seek changes in the draft.

The Committee wrote to the agencies involved at CICCC meetings, seeking agency comment on the draft. MFB and WorkSafe supported the guidelines while EPA has advised that it has no issues with the guidelines. The Committee has therefore adopted the guidelines and will post them to the CICCC website.

Next meeting of the CICCC

The next meeting will be held at the Terminals site office at Coode Island on Tuesday 10 February 2015 at 3pm.
