CICCC Update—11 April 2017 Meeting
Welcome to Deborah Brown
At the April 2017 meeting, Deb Brown (Terminals PL Chief Operating Officer) was welcomed by the Committee and gave an informative address. She tabled a booklet, ANTZ 2017 – Vision and Goals, which contains a summary of Terminals’ vision and a summary of its 5 facilities in Australia, its four facilities in New Zealand and the two Australian sites where the development of major new facilities is either under construction or the land is being held for further construction.
Deb has extensive experience in chemical facilities and a key area of her position is managing the direction of the company with the board. Her key line responsibility is the line control of operations. As part of the corporate team she is involved in commercial, HR and Health & Safety, and strategic aspects.
With the reduction in manufacturing in Australia, Terminals PL is moving to the storage of fuels and small oils. At present Terminals have 440 tanks across its sites, and the continued instrumentation of the tanks is underway.
The Integrum system
The Integrum system is a comprehensive data base collecting information from the instrumentation of tanks and other plant items, and other information such as incident reports. It provides real time information on the facility to management and key operators, and sends out alarms if any system is outside its allowed parameters.
The system is now being introduced to generate the reports on incidents which are provided to the Committee. As it contains information dealing with quite different aspects depending on the type of incident, it is not easy to select and present in a single brief report the key information of interest to the Committee automatically. Terminals is working to achieve a format that provides the information presented in the past, but does so with a minimum of staff intervention.
